Home Brew Kits

Why do my Home Brew Wine Kits have a distinct taste?
I have been doing quite a few home brew wine kits. I have been drinking them as soon as they are complete.
I have been saving a few bottle from each batch.
So far the wine I have tried so far has a very distinct home brewy kind of taste. (i.e. not like shop bought wines) Is this normal, or should I be leaving my wine for longer before drinking?
I do clean everything using steriliser powder. The wine just has a homebrew taste to it. might try opening some of my wine from 8 months ago see the difference.
I’d love to do fruit wine but not sure what chemicals I need etc
The distinctive taste comes from your being in too much of a rush. Try cellaring some bottles and don’t drink them until they mature.
For fruit wines,, hunt down a copy of First Steps in Home Winemaking, by CJJ Berry. Beadle has a few books of recipes too. Alternatively, get the Country Wine recipes from http://winemakermag.com.
