American Barbecue and Home Brewed Beer

The American Barbecue. There are many different views of what a barbecue actually is, but they all have the same major things in common; social gathering of friends and family, good food, and some great drinks. Whether it is some barbecued ribs slowly smoked to perfection, or large, juicy cuts of tender strip steak grilled over an open flame, or even a secret family recipe for roasting succulent chicken, the food is one of the main events. Along with the food is the gathering of friends and family. Sharing fun and laughter, catching up with old times, it is all great enjoyment and relaxing. And what is better to go with a barbecue, then some special Home Brewed Beer, getting that buzz to relax and just have plain old fun; but don’t drink too much, or make sure you have somebody else to drive. All in all, the Barbecue is a wonderful bit of American culture that just about everyone is sure to love.

Food is the centerpiece of any barbecue. It doesn’t matter what type of equipment you use to cook, the final outcome will be the same. Filled bellies of finger-licking good barbecued ribs. A cut of steak cooked to perfection on a grill, so tender you cant cut with your fork and just let the exquisite flavors dissolve in your mouth. Chicken, be it fried, roasted, grilled, etc; the way chicken interacts with spices, seasonings, and sauces, or the different textures of a crunchy and juicy piece of fried goodness. All these wonderful foods will make anybody happy, and anybody that decides to be Chef for the day will deserve the praise they get for cooking such amazing eats.

And who better to share this tasty food than with friends and family? Having a bunch of people that all share some things in common, enjoying a luscious feast and talking about anything that comes to anybody’s mind. Often times, the conversations start to focus on the different fodder being eaten. How wonderful it is; or how the Chef of the Day should not quit the day job. No matter what is being said, it is all in good fun. You won’t even notice the time go by, due to being overwhelmed by the enjoyment of the barbecue.

But what kind of barbecue would it be without some good ‘ole beer. Beer is the most commonly drank alcoholic beverage in the United States, and pretty much most of the world as well. Drinking some Good Beer is more of a social thing than is drinking mixed drinks. Unless of course, you are drinking margaritas; which can be the whole focus of another type of gathering in itself. Back to beer. What better way to enjoy wonderful barbecue, then with a batch of some fine home made beer. Anybody can go out and buy that brand of beer that comes in the red and white or blue cans; not naming them due to my extreme dislike for that horrible excuse of a lager. But only a home Beer Brewer can create a beer with a taste that will go well with the food being cooked. Yes, beer can be paired well with food, just as wine. And the best thing is, home brewed beer is cheap to make, leaving more money to be spent on some prime steak, or big meaty ribs. Lastly, the best thing about home brewed beer is it’s uniqueness. What better way to have a special barbecue then to indulge in a fine Brew made just for that one occasion?

As you can see, the American Barbecue is a great party to hold, allowing you to show off your skills behind the grill or smoker. Cooking a steak so tender that Grandma doesn’t even have to take her dentures out. Sharing your finely crafted beer, and watching the enjoyment of everybody just having a good old time.
